Director RDD chairs review meeting at Kupwara

Kupwara: The Director Rural Development, Kashmir Tariq Ahmad Zargar Friday directed the officers and field functionaries of Rural Development and Panchayats to strictly follow the guidelines for timely completion of ongoing development works, envisaged to ameliorate the socio economic profile of the rural masses. The Director was addressing a review meeting at the Conference Hall of DC Office, Kupwara.
The Director held threadbare discussion with the officers and reviewed all schemes of RDD and Panchayats one by one at block level. He stressed upon the officers to work with added dedication and chase the targets for its timely completion. It was informed in the meeting that under 14th FC out of a total taken up 6300 works, 4200 different works have been completed till date. Out of total allocation of Rs 136 Crore under the 14th FC, Rs 71 crore has been spent during the current fiscal so far. The meeting was also informed that Rs 13 crore have been utilised on wages so far, generating 3.71lakh man days/ person days of work. The officers were emphatically stressed upon to make the timely wage payment under MGNREGA. Reviewing the Secure MGNREGA Estimation programme, the meeting was informed that out of targeted 6000 work projects, estimates have been made for 2122 works till date.
The Director also reviewed the progress of CD and Panchayats and it was informed that the work is apace on 242 developmental schemes for which Rs 77.95 lacs have been released so far. Reviewing the status of Awaasplus and MGNREGA Job Card mapping, the Director was informed that 32739 Households have been registered out of which 5530 HH have been targeted for completion during the current fiscal. The Director stressed upon the concerned officers to ensure that most deserving people be covered under the programme for which concerned officers should conduct Gram Sabhas, inviting all stakeholders including PRIs. Earlier, Assistant Commissioner Development, Mehraj Din shah briefed the Director about the physical and financial achievements under various RDD schemes through power point presentation. The Assistant Commissioner Development, Assistant Commissioner Panchayats, DPO, all BDOs, AEEs and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
