DDC B’pora chairs DLRC/ DCC meeting, reviews performance of banks

Bandipora: The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Bandipora Dr Owais Ahmad Friday chaired a meeting of District Level Review Committee/ District Consultative Committee (DLRC/DCC) convened by Lead District Manager Bandipora.
While reviewing the performance of Banks and Government departments under various schemes, the DDC directed for speedy disposal of government sponsored cases. He advised all the banks and the sponsoring agencies to work in coordination and cohesion to achieve the goals and targets for development progress and eradication of unemployment.
Earlier, while welcoming all the heads of line departments, District Coordinators of various Banks of the District, Lead District Manager presented the performance of all banks and line departments of the district for the quarter that ended March 2021.
Lead Bank manager informed the house that J&K Bank alone has disbursed Rs 266.60 crores under priority sector and Rs 171.01 crores under Non-priority sector aggregating to total credit of Rs 437.61 Cr against the yearly target of 461.76 Crores showing an achievement of 95 percent.
During the meeting it was revealed that 24 Awareness camps in addition to nine special camps were conducted by the FLCC posted in the district against the target of 18 camps. Officers informed that RSETI Bandipora has not provided any EDP training because of COVID-19. However 15 awareness camps were conducted at different places of the district.
On the occasion, DDC impressed upon the concerned that much is needed to be done in the district and there are many uncovered areas in the Banking Sector including Gurez valley.
He said the line departments have to be more proactive so that all the benefits are passed on to the grassroots level of the needy people.
The meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Lead District Manager Bandipora Abdul Rashid Malik, District coordinators of all Banks operating in the district and heads of various line departments of the district.
