DC B’gam reviews I-Day arrangements

I- Day celebrations to be held at all Panchayats across distt

Budgam: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza Thursday convened a meeting at District Headquarter to review the arrangements for smooth conduct of Independence Day celebrations in the district.
While giving details regarding arrangements, DC said that the main function will be held at Sports Stadium Budgam, which will start with Shahnaie Wadan followed by unfurling of tricolor by the chief guest.
The chief guest shall inspect the march past and take salute at the parade to be presented by contingents from J&K Police, Armed Police, CRPF, Home guard, Fire and Emergency, NCC, besides contingents from various educational institutions of the District.
On the occasion, a cultural programme will also be presented by the Education Department .
The DC directed all concerned departments and agencies to ensure that all required arrangements are made well in time, so that celebrations could be conducted smoothly. He stressed for maintaining sanitation in and around the venues identified for the celebration of Independence Day.
Mirza also directed for ensuring better security arrangements, parking facility, drinking water, proper seating arrangement etc.
All the line departments shall install stalls at the venue depicting and demonstrating various kinds of services and schemes being implemented in the respective departments, the DC instructed.
Health department was directed to ensure Covid-19 sampling at the venue besides deployment of Para medical staff along with ambulances at the venue. Further CMO Budgam was directed to ensure intensive Covid-19 sampling in 07 newly declared Micro containment zones in the district.
The DC further said, similar functions would be held at all SDM and Tehsil Headquarters, where concerned authorities will unfurl the tricolour and take salute on the march past.
It is pertinent to mention here that for the first time, celebrations will be held at all Panchayats across the district where BDOs concerned shall invite General public, PRI functionaries, Youth and execute all necessary arrangements.
The line departments, particularly executing departments including R&B, PHE, RDD, PDD were directed to ensure laying of foundation for works at Panchayat level pertaining to various departments. Similarly, Youth Services and Sports department shall carry out sporting activities in every panchayat across district, the DC added
The meeting was also attended by ADC, CPO, ACD, SDMs, XEN R&B, IFC, DSWO, all BDOs, Tehsildars and other concerned officers and officials.
