G’bal: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna wednesday said that Covid Appropriate Behavior (CAB) and vaccination are imperative to combat 3rd wave of Covid-19 pandemic in the district.
The DC said this during a regular press briefing on the current Covid scenario and mitigation efforts put in place in the district.
While sharing details, the DC said that overall positivity rate has come down to just 0.38 percent and there are only 39 total positive cases in the district.
Regarding vaccination, the DC said that while analyzing the data it has been observed that the people above 45 years of age group are showing more interest in vaccination for 2nd dose which is a positive sign, while the young generation is still hesitating for vaccination irrespective of repeated requests.
She again appealed to the people of 18-44 years of age to visit the nearest vaccination site and get vaccinated adding that all 94 vaccination sites are functional in the district.
Regarding the recent weather advisory, the DC appealed to the general public of the district, especially those residing in the higher reaches, to remain cautious and not to venture out in slopes, hilly areas or flood/landslide prone areas till weather improves.
