Anantnag: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Chairman District Environment Committee Anantnag, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), who is also Member Secretary, District Environment Committee, Anantnag, Ghulam Hassan Sheikh Tuesday convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the District Environment Plan, here.
During the meeting, detailed discussions on methods of segregation and disposal of biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste, awareness on usage of dust bins, door to door collection of waste material, construction of STPs in Municipal Committees, steps to control water and air pollution, implementation of new technologies to reduce the waste and pollution, role of youth clubs in waste management and hygiene besides preservation of water bodies were held.
On the occasion, the ADC reviewed the Action Taken Report and also sought vital feedback from the officers.
DM Bijbihara (CEO MCA), Dy. CMO, Tehsildar Anantnag (EO MC Achabal), Officers of Geology and Mining, Pollution Control, Forest Department, E.Os of Municipal Committees and other officers attended the meeting.
