Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested two absconders who were evading their arrest since 1997.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday police said that a Police party headed by SHO PS Baramulla under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla Syed Sajad Hussain arrested two absconders who were evading their arrest for a long time and they were identified as Khursheed Ahmad Ahanger son of Nazir Ahmad Ahanger resident of Azadgunj Baramulla & Tariq Ahmad Mir son of Ab Khaliq Mir resident of Kakerhamam Baramulla, stating therein further that they were wanted by law for their involvement in Case FIR No. 50/1997 of PS Baramulla.
Stating that the detained accused persons were produced before the local Court where from they were shifted to jail, police in it’s statement further said that case FIR No. 50/1997 under relevant sections of law was registered on 4th March 1997 at PS Baramulla against three accused persons including the said absconders regarding crime against women.
The instant case was challaned against accused persons before Hon’ble Court on 03/04/1997. During the trial the said accused persons were declared as absconders by the Hon’ble Court.
