Drug peddler arrested in Ang; contraband substance recovered: Police

Srinagar: Police on Monday said that it has arrested a drug peddler and also recovered contraband substances from his possession.
In a statement issued here on Monday police said “Police Station Bijbehara received an information through reliable sources that two persons namely Ishfaq Ahmad Parray (Shop owner) son of Mohd Ramzan Parray and Manzoor Ahmad Parray son of Abdul Rahman Parry both residents of Krandigham Bijbehara have indulged in drug peddling and have hoarded contrabands substances for sale in a Shop at Guree Bijbehara”.
Stating that a Police party headed by SHO Bijbehara alongwith Executive Magistrate raided the specific location and during searches recovered 1.3kgs of Charas from the said shop, police in it’s statement further said that one person arrested on the spot was identified as Nisar Ahmad Parray son of Abdul Rahman Parray resident of Krandigham Bijbehara working as Lab Assistant in Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School Bijbehara and was shifted to police station where he remains in custody. Police in it’s statement however said that the the main accused persons managed to escape from the spot and efforts are on to effect their arrest.
In the concluding para of its above referred statement police said that, a case vide FIR No. 216/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Bijbehara and investigation has been also taken up.
