Anantnag: To commemorate 75 years of Country’s Independence, ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’, the District Administration Anantnag held Awareness cum Interaction programme on benefits of “National Generic Document Registration System” (NGDRS) and Unique Land Parcel Identification Number (ULPIN) here.
The programme was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Registrar, Gulzar Ahmad Bhat while Additional Deputy Commissioner, Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, SDMs, ACR, Tehsildars, revenue officials and other stakeholders also participated.
At the outset, the Registrar said that NGDRS is an IT based service under Digital India programme and the system reduces personal interface and human intervention besides maintaining a uniform land record registration system.
He impressed upon the officers to verify the records minutely and carefully to ensure registration is done in favour of the legal owner.
Bhat expressed hope that the workshop would be of great help for the participants to develop their skills in the field.
The ADC also addressed the gathering and presented an overview of NGDRS. It is an endeavor of the Government to keep pace with the present day technological innovations for making rapid success besides being transparent and saving precious time of the clients, he remarked.
On the occasion, the participants were apprised about the benefits of the online property registration system (NGDRS). They were informed that, under this system, people get an appointment date on which they have to appear at the Registrar’s office for the final signing of documents and registration.
Besides, awareness regarding the Unique Land Parcel Identification Number (ULPIN) scheme was also given. As ‘Aadhaar for land’, it is a number that would uniquely identify every surveyed parcel of land and prevent land fraud, especially in the hinterlands of rural areas.
