GCE holds awareness workshop on NAAC Assessment, Accreditation

Jammu: Internal Quality Assessment Cell (IQAC) of Government College of Education (GCE), Jammu organized a one day workshop on the topic, ‘NAAC ASSESSMENT AND ACCREDITATION’, here Saturday.
The workshop was chaired by Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Kulwinder Kour. Prof. Dr. Sham Lal Gupta, Former Director Colleges & NAAC Member having conducted 50 to different colleges all over India for NAAC Assessment and Accreditations, was the resource person.
In his lecture, the resource person presented a detailed and elaborative power point presentation on different aspects of NAAC assessment and accreditation process. Prof. Dr. Sham Lal Gupta covered the entire seven criterions and explained the importance of utilizing them for the progress of Education System and Quality Teaching and Learning. He highlighted the process and methodology to be adopted by the college to perform better in various measuring criterions of NAAC Assessment and Accreditation. He guided the college for the careful preparation of Institutional Information for Quality Assessment (IIQA), Self Study Report (SSR), Data Verification and Validation (DVV) and Students Satisfaction Survey (SSS), besides threw the light on Quantitative and Qualitative Metrics.
He also deliberated upon the seven criteria through sample based examples and emphasized on upgrading the academic standards like Teaching-Learning, Research, Innovation, formation of dynamic Internal Quality Assessment Cell in Colleges, Students Councils, Alumni and Parents Meeting Coordinating Committee (PMCC) among other committees of the colleges.
A special session of Question & Answers were also arranged which was highly valuable as huge participation was shown by the Faculty members of the Govt. College of Education, Jammu.
The Principal of the College, Dr. Kulwinder Kour appreciated the efforts and contribution of Prof. Dr. Sham Lal Gupta (Resource Person of the Workshop) and felt obliged. She motivated and directed Committee members to gear up for NAAC Assessment and Accreditation.
Earlier, the Principal inaugurated the OFFICIAL YOU-TUBE CHANNEL of the College and expressed gratitude to Prof. Deep Bangotra, HOD Department of Computer Science for starting College YouTube Channel which will provide another platform to students for easiness and Quality learning.
The workshop was attended by faculty members, IQAC Committee members of Government College of Education, Jammu and other eminent personalities. The Workshop was moderated by Assistant Prof English Shalini Rana and Assistant Prof Education, Shapia Shameem. College IQAC Committee members were the force behind the successful organization of this one day workshop on ‘NAAC ASSESSMENT AND ACCREDITATION’.
