Srinagar: Police on Monday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Budgam & Bandipora and recovered Psychotropic substances from their possession.
In a statement issued here on Monday police said that in Budgam, officers from Police Post Narbal at a checkpoint near Jamia Masjid Narbal intercepted one person who was moving in a suspicious manner identified as Khazer Mohd Sheikh son of Sanahual Sheikh resident of Bazar Mohallah Narbal. Police in it’s statement also said that during checking, officers recovered 172 grams of Charas from the possession of the above named accused who was formally arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Stating that in a similar incident in Bandipora, a police party of Police Post Aloosa under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Bandipora at a checkpoint established at Quilmuqam Aloosa intercepted one person identified as Fida Hussain Mir son of Mohammad Shaban Mir resident of Ward No 06, Bandipora, police in the above quoted statement further said “during checking, officers recovered 300 Proxywel Spos tablet following which the above named accused a resident Bandipora was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
In the concluding para of it’s above referred statement police said “preliminary investigation reveals that the recovered drugs were meant to be supplied to the youth of the area to make them drug addicts”, adding that “cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective Police Stations and further investigations have been initiated”.
