Kupwara:: In view of Eid-ul-Adha, market checking has been intensified across Kupwara district to ensure stable price line and availability of essential goods in the market.
On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Imam Din, a joint team of officers comprising Tehsildar Kupwara, Magistrates, TSO, Municipal Council Kupwara and Police inspected Kupwara market and collected fines amounting to Rs. 6500 from various offenders.
The team also destroyed around one quintal rotten vegetables, 80 kg
fruit and 5 kg polythene.
Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner Food Safety Kupwara has issued eight improvement notices to different food business operators in Kupwara town for improving their sanitary conditions and obtaining proper licenses for their establishments.
Market checking is also being conducted in major towns of Kupwara district including Handwara, Tangdar, Sogam, Langate, Kralpora by market checking squads already designated by District Administration.
