Hakeem  felicitates people on the urs of Shahi Hamdan ( R.A),  ‘whole Kashmir Indebted to him for bringing socio- religious transformation ‘

Srinagar/ July 16:- Chairman People’s Democratic Front (PDF) Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen has greeted muslim umma especially  people of  Kashmir on the auspicious Urse Sharief  of Mir  Syed Ali Hamdani (R.A).
In his felicitation message Hakeem while greeting people on the Urs of Shahi Hamdan sb ( r. a)  said that he introduced Islam in Kashmir and brought socio- religious awakening and transformation among the people. He preached and propagated Islamic studies in Kashmir with dedication and devotion.He said Shahi Hamdan sb (r.a) . brought masters of ancient and historic arts  and crafts from Central Asia to Kashmir who trained  local populace to improve their livelihood. ” This humanitarian gesture of Shahi Hamdan ( r. a) proved as a silver lining for economic ,social and religious emancipation of the people, ” Hakeem added. He said  in 1372, Shahi Hamdan (r. a ) came  to Kashmir along with  700 sayyids and followers to preach Islamic teachings.
Among these seven hundred followers, who accompanied him to Kashmir, were men of arts and crafts who popularized these wonderful crafts  among the local populace. He said because of Shah Hamadan (R.A)  these wonderful arts and crafts turned Kashmir into a world famous handicrafts hub which  brought about a revolution in the thinking and living process of the local populace.

PDF Chairman while recalling contribution of Hazrat Shahi Hamdan (r. a) , said that he made Islamic teachings known to the people in Kashmir, improved their beliefs, made efforts for the building of their character and laid down a fool-proof base for their economic progress . ” Whole Kashmir  shall ever  remain  highly indebted to Hazrat Shahi Hamdan r. a) for his love, affection and concern  towards the people of Kashmir, ” Hakeem  maintained.
