Kupwara: In order to finalize cases of land acquisition under private negotiation and compulsory acquisition for various developmental projects, a Private Negotiations Committee (PNC) meeting was held Tuesday at DC Office, Kupwara with Deputy Commissioner, Imam Din in chair.
The meeting was convened for fixing the rate of land in various areas of the district required for different projects as per Land Acquisition Act.
A total of 4 cases were taken up during the meeting out of which 1 case was settled while 03 cases were deferred. Notably, land acquisition case related to the construction of road from Machil to Satwari was settled amicably, for which compensation was granted at the rate of Rs.1.25 lakh per kanal.
The Deputy Commissioner directed Beacon authorities to ensure that no structure or house shall be damaged and asked them to construct protection bunds in uphill and downhill where ever necessary so that no individual faces any inconvenience.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner, Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Johar Ali; CEO, AO, Tehsildar Kupwara , AD Fisheries, RO, Ex. Engineer R&B, Beacon authorities, concerned officers and parties participated in the meeting.
