Clear contractual teaching posts being filled in Colleges as per new recruitment guidelines: Secy Hr Edu

Srinagar: Putting rest to all confusion created in the minds of jobless research scholars having qualified doctorates from several universities the Secretary Higher Education Sushma Chauhan has said that contractual teaching posts left unfilled in previous years are being filled through a proper recruitment process under new recruitment guidelines approved by UGC and the post graduate candidates whose disengagement has been stayed by the Jammu & Kashmir High Court have been allowed to continue till the final judgment by the top court. Allegations are galore from all quarters that post graduates instead of Ph.D pass out are engaged for teaching online classes as guest faculty by the principals of govt run degree colleges even during the current days of pandemic.

When asked about the engagement of post graduates of the concerned subjects on teaching posts on contractual basis the Secretary Higher Education Sushma Chauhan told Kashmir Horizon “contractual teaching posts left unfilled in previous years are being filled through a proper recruitment process under new recruitment guidelines approved by UGC but the post graduate candidates whose disengagement has been stayed by the Jammu & Kashmir High Court have been allowed to continue till the final judgment by the top court”. A group of research scholars having qualified Ph.D in different subjects from various universities within and outside Jammu & Kashmir while challenging the recruitment of post graduates on teaching positions in degree college across Jammu & Kashmir told Kashmir Horizon “ Forger about adherence to UGC rules in general recruitment of candidate for teaching posts in Govt Degree Colleges the principals of degree colleges even now are engaging post graduates instead of Ph.D pass outs for teaching online classes as the guest faculty”.
