Srinagar: Police on Thursday said that one more guide was on 2nd July detained in connection with the foiled ex-filtration bid in Uri area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
In a statement issued here on Thursday police said “during questioning of the guide namely Parvaiz Ahmad Hajam of Gohallan Uri he confessed that other guide namely Mohammad Majloon Sheikh son of Aakli Sheikh of Dudran Boniyar was also involved in the act of exfiltration of the three youth to (PaK) and on his confession the guide was arrested and incriminating material was also recovered from his possession”, adding that “ On 2nd July , Police and army said that the ex-filtration bid was foiled by detaining three youth and one guide, Parvaiz Ahmad Hajam, in Uri”.
Stating that police received about three local youth who were received by one Parvaiz Ahmad Hajam (guide) in order to ex-filtrate them to (PaK) through Gowhallan sector,” police said in it’s statement “the detained youth were identified as Mohammad Shafi Hajam son of Abdul Ahad Hajam, Reyaz Ahmad Bhat son of Manzoor Ahmad, both residents of Sheeri Mirhar and Yasir Bhat son of Ghulam Mohammad of Chatloora Sopore”.
Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement further said that incriminating material including sharp knives, torch etc. were also recovered from their possession, adding that “accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation into the matter is in progress.”
