Samoon reviews progress achieved on different components of SDD at a key meet in Srinagar

Oficers directed to make CIIITs at Jammu, Bla fully functional

Srinagar: Principal Secretary, Skill Development Department (SDD), Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon Thursday chaired a meeting to review the progress achieved on different components of SDD at Civil Secretariat here.
Secretary SDD, Director SDD, Additional Secretary SDD, Director Finance SDD, Secretary Board of Technical Education, Joint Director Planning SDD, Joint Director SDD, Principals of Government Polytechnic Colleges, Superintendents of ITIs and other concerned attended the meeting in person and through virtual mode.
The meeting held detailed deliberations and discussions on the action taken report and progress on different deliverables like updation of websites, Constitution of Institute Management Committees for model ITI’s of Jammu and Srinagar, making CIIITs at Jammu and Baramulla fully functional and others.
Speaking during the meeting, Dr. Samoon directed the officers to complete all the projects within the stipulated time so that the buildings would be utilized for trainings, teachings and other professional education of the aspiring skill workers and students.
He stressed upon the officers to update the websites of all the ITIs and Polytechnics on regular basis with all relevant details on dashboard besides the interface should be user friendly for easy access of students and other visitors of the website.
While reviewing the progress on establishment of IT Labs at several ITIs, Dr. Samoon directed the officers to complete these works at the earliest so that modern and innovative facilities are provided to the students of these institutes.
He further directed the officers that all the ITIs and Polytechnics should be provided the facility of wifi connectivity besides the labs in these institutes should be upgraded as per the requirements of the latest technological trends in the field of industry.
While reviewing the progress on establishment of CIIITs at Jammu and Baramulla, Dr. Samoon asked the officials that these institutes of excellence should be made fully functional so that the latest and innovative courses in several streams can be provided to the aspiring students.
During the meeting, the Principal Secretary also assessed the progress achieved on updation of recruitment rules for both Gazetted and Non Gazetted posts of SDD.
