Pandemic has created catastrophic situations everywhere, despite standing against it, people’s (especially Kashmiri youths) choose a different way that’s suicide. According to the World Health Organization in 2017, suicide is the second leading cause of death among individuals between 15_29 years old globally. Eventually, people like to escape from the earth’s prison, they choose suicide as their remedy. Suicide means “killing oneself intentionally”. Suicide is derived from the Latin word “Suicidium” which means ‘the act of taking one’s own life. People end their lives because of pain and all the things they are holding inside and that pain makes them a physco. As per reports of W.H.O, more than 700,000 people die due to suicide every year. Across Kashmir valley suicides are rising rapidly, cause of Unemployment, love failure, the burden of study, all these have created a huge impact on their minds and they think suicide is the cure. Suicides are becoming a leading cause of death in the valley. The data compiled by NATIONAL CRIME RECORDS BUREAU (NCRB) records around 6000 cases in Kashmir between 1990 and 2019. As per some reports, more than 100 people committed suicide in the valley during the last six months. Depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, drug addiction, domestic violence are the main reasons behind it. In Kashmir, experts warn youths about the ‘Copycat Phenomenon. One month ago a student of engineering committed suicide because of his financial issue as his father was a government teacher but the government had not released his salary from last two years, and this was the reason, all the statement was made by the said boy himself in a video. And now everyone makes videos before going to take this step.
Recently in the Pahalgam area, a 23-year-old girl hanged herself and before doing such she sent a picture with the hanging roop to her husband. Recently a 24-year-old youth committed suicide by jumping into Aharbal waterfall. As per our religion, Islam it’s is considered as greatest sin and utterly detrimental to one’s spiritual journey. As Allah says in the Holy Quran Surah 4: 29 which states “don’t kill yourselves”. As humans, we should understand and help each other and the best thing is to prostrate in front of ALLAH in all situations and conditions. It is mentioned in Quran “Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear “( Surah 02.286). Allah has mentioned in the Qur’an “Be patient Allah is with you “.No matter how hard you are suffering in your lives Allah will always make a way for you. Don’t disobey your creator for the materialistic things of Duniya. Death is not the solution don’t end your life. One ends his/her life and thinks all his pain will end but the victim doesn’t know that they are leaving their families in everlasting grief and sorrow. As APJ Abdul Kalam said, ” don’t close the book when bad things happen in life just turn the page and start a new chapter, remember everything happens for a reason sometimes it hurts but in the end it is all for best”. So don’t let your sorrows and worries overwhelm your life, remember Allah has written our fate and he is the best writer in the universe he knows what’s good for you and what’s bad for you. Be brave and don’t quit.
