Div Com (J) interacts with public representatives; listens to people’s grievances at Billawar

Div Com Langer also inspects facilities for devotees at Sukrala Mata; pays obeisance at Temple Shrine

Jammu: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Dr Raghav Langer Wednesday conducted an extensive tour of Billawar Sub Division of Kathua and interacted with Public representatives and listened to people’s issues.
After paying obeisance at Mata Sukrala Devi Ji Shrine, the Div Com met with Baaridars (Local traditional priests) and listened to their issues and demands. He called upon them to put up their genuine demands before the Tribunal, which has the mandate to listen to the issues of Local Priests for finding an amicable solution of their legitimate concerns.
Some local Baaridars have secured a court stay on the proposed expansion and face-lifting of Mata Sukrala Ji Shrine.
While inspecting Sarai building and other facilities for devotees at the temple shrine, the Div Com directed ADC Billawar to work out on the scope of improvement of amenities for Yatris like installation of Water Cooler, High Mast Light, construction of more Toilets etc. ADDC Kathua, Mr Punnet was directed to develop a web page dedicated to Mata Sukrala Shrine to provide all necessary information to the pilgrims, facility for online ordering of Prasadam and to make donations.
Meanwhile, the Div Com chaired a meeting at PWD Rest House, Billawar which was attended by Chairman Municipal Committee Billawar, Uma Kant Basotra; DDC member Billawar, Bikram Singh; DDC member Mandli, Neeru Rajput; BDC Billawar Rural, Ashok Kumar Sapolia, ADC Billawar Sandesh Kumar Sharma and other concerned officers besides s large number of prominent citizens.
The MC Chairman highlighted issues related to shifting of CRPF barracks from Hospital to other suitable Place. The ADC apprised the Div Com that the proposal has already been submitted for the same.
The Div Com directed the ADC to track the proposal projected by MC Chairman like the issue of encroachment, unregulated Mining and issues of public concern.
The Div Com instructed the ADC to ensure proper demarcation of area so that extraction shall be done in a regulated manner.
The Div Com also directed authorities to ensure early completion of utility shifting work on Phinter- Billawar double lane road.
The local representatives apprised the Div Com that the Historic Maha Bikleshwar Mandir at Billawar, which is protected site under Archeological Survey of India (ASI), has huge potential of development.
The Div Com was told that ASI authorities have assured to send a team to the protected site at the earliest.
BDC Billawar, Bikram Singh demanded Oxygen Generation Plant for SDH Billawar, start of Nursing class batch, as the building of Nursing College is already completed.
The Div Com issued on the spot directions to the concerned departments for timely resolving the projected issues. He assured the PRIs, Public that all their genuine demands would be met on priority.
