Srinagar: Police in Budgam on Wednesday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued here on Wednesday police said that a police party from Police Station Chadoora at a checkpoint established at Wathora, intercepted a person roaming in suspicious condition and arrested him by.
Stating that during checking, officers recovered 300 grams of heroin from the possession of the named accused identified as Younis Manzoor@ Sahil son of Manzoor Ahmad Waza resident of Wathoora, police in the above referred statement said that during questioning, another drug peddler was arrested upon his revelation from Wathora area of the Budgam district. Saying that the above named accused identified as Nasir Farooq Sofi son of Farooq Ahmad Sofi resident of Wathoora Chadoora, police in it’s statement further said that during checking, officers were also able to recover 200 grams of heroin from the possession of the above named accused.
In the concluded para of its above refereed statement police also said that a case vide FIR No. 106/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Chadoora and further investigation has been set into motion, stating therein further that more arrests and recoveries are expected.
