Srinagar: Alleging that police was not allowing him to go to his ancestral home in Shopian citing security reasons, former Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Aijaz Ahmad Mir on Wednesday said he has now no place to go after vacating government accommodation in Srinagar.
PDP president and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has recently alleged that only leaders of her party were being asked to vacate secure government accommodation in the Jammu and Kashmir.
Mir said Estate Department wanted him to vacate the quarter to which he has no objection. “But Shopian police was preventing him to go home citing security reasons,” he alleged.
There is absolute confusion as he was vacating the quarter on Wednesday but have no idea where to go, he said.
Taking to micro blogging site Twitter Mir said, “Estates department wants me to evacuate the quarter to which I’ve no objection but at the same time @ShopianPolice is preventing me from going home citing security reasons. There is absolute confusion. I’m vacating the quarter today but I’ve no idea where to go.”
Tweet of Mir was also re-tweeted on official handle of PDP.
