Samba: Deputy Commissioner Samba, Anuradha Gupta Tuesday sanctioned 244 new cases under the Ladli Beti scheme.
Ladli Beti scheme is a positive and remarkable endeavour to address imbalance in sex ratio and create positive temperament towards girl child right from birth to adulthood by providing financial assistance.
The DC Samba emphasised on making concerted efforts by all stakeholders to achieve the desired objective of securing the future of the girl child. She further said that no deserving beneficiary should be left out in the process of implementation of the scheme. She also decided to take up new cases under the Ladli Beti scheme every month to avoid the pendency of cases.
Under the scheme, the government contributes Rs 1000 per month towards the birth of a girl child subject to laid down criteria in the scheme to be filled by applicants.
District Programme Officer, Anu Behal, Chief Medical Officer, Dr Sanjay Turki, District Social Welfare Officer, Deep Kumar and Child Development Officers, Vijaypur, Samba and Ghagwal were also present on the occasion.
