Srinagar/July,6 : Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) on Tuesday conducted extensive demolition drive against illegal and unauthorised constructions in Lawaypora, Mujgund area. More over some Illegal shops and other structures were also immediately demolished.
In a statement issued on Tuesday a spokesperson of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) said that Commissioner SMC Athar Amir Khan has suspended the ward officer of Lawaypora for dereliction of duty, adding that “the ward officer has been attached with sanitation officer”.
Stating that Commissioner SMC has made it clear that illegal construction won’t be allowed and connivance or negligence on part of SMC officials will be dealt with strongly, the SMC spokesperson in the above quoted official statement said “Besides ward officer Lawaypora, SMC Commissioner also suspended ward officer Magarmal bagh for negligence and dereliction of duty”.
