SHD to make available 18000 sacrificial sheep in Budgam

Budgam: Arrangements for forthcoming Eid-ul-Azha were reviewed at a meeting of officers held under the chair of Additional Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Dr. Nasir Ahmad Lone.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Nasir directed the Municipal authorities to ensure proper fumigation, sanitation and cleanliness of all the places amid COVID-19 pandemic. He said that on the eve of Eid, the Animal Husbandry Department would set up sale outlets for sale of poultry at Tehsil Headquarters of Chadoora, Charar-e-sharief, Budgam, Beerwah and Khan Sahib.
The meeting was informed that the Animal Husbandry department is going to offer 20 per kg rebate on poultry birds to consumers up on the rate to be fixed by the government during the auspicious days.
The meeting was also informed that the department of sheep husbandry department (SHD) will keep available about 18000 sheep for sacrificial purposes at all designated locations to be selected ahead. With regard to other arrangements the meeting was apprised that the department of FCS&CA will ensure distribution of ration from 5th of July across the district and shall be completed before 15th of July.
The ADC said that no one would be allowed to violate SOPs related to COVID-19 because of anticipated consumers rush in the markets, and anyone found violating the order will be dealt with strictly under law.
The ADC also said that all SDMs shall remain vigilant within their Jurisdiction and ensure that the public follow Do’s and Dont’s of COVID-19 pandemic during the festival of Eid ul Azha. They shall also constitute special market checking squads with equal participation of department of revenue, legal metrology, police and concerned municipalities in order to check illegal profiteering/hoardings of essentials particularly during the celebration days, he added.
Regarding water and power supply the department Jal Shakti and PDD were asked to ensure uninterrupted supply of water and electricity with alternate arrangements across the district during festival days, the ADC exhorted.
