The meeting was attended by Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, Executive Engineer PMGSY, OC Beacon and other concerned officers.
The Deputy Commissioner took a comprehensive review of the progress achieved under PMGSY and a threadbare discussion was held with regard to the bottlenecks that hinder the early completion of various projects.
It was given out that PMGSY has set a target to macadamize 100 Kilometer roads across the district and the work is in full swing on majority of the road projects out of which several works are near completion. Officers informed that construction and macadamization of roads is at different stages of completion.
Executive Engineer PMGSY was asked to frame month wide timeline chart of completion to monitor the progress.
DC Bandipora directed Executive Engineer PMGSY to complete the work on Authwatto-Labkachal project by October 2021.
Meeting also discussed progress on Peer Bhutto to Chandiji road and other similar projects. DC Bandipora directed the executive engineer PMGSY to explore possibilities of repairing of erroded portion of part of Binlipora-Ketson road.
While taking a detailed review of the stage/scheme wise progress and completion of scheme, the DDC directed the officers to review the pending projects for want of any clearance and get the issues resorted so to complete these projects at the earliest. He directed the officers of PMGSY to coordinate with concerned authorities and settle all the issues including pending land acquisition cases, forest clearances etc for early completion of PMGSY roads.
Dr Owais stressed upon concerned officers to ensure the quality standards in road construction with climate-resilient construction so that the roads can withstand the vagaries of climate in higher reaches especially in Gurez.
