DC G’bal asks people to undergo vaccination, adhere strictly to CAB

Ganderbal: The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna Monday urged the people of the district to continue following Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) strictly as per laid down guidelines.
She said this during a regular press briefing to share a Covid situation and mitigation efforts put in place by the district administration in the district.
While giving details, the DC said that the number of Covid positive patients and Positivity rate is continuously declining in the district and restrictions are also eased accordingly.
She said that with the ease of restrictions, People are continuously appealed to follow Covid-19 protocols and guidelines issued from time to time but it is observed in last few days that people are not strictly adhering Covid protocols in markets and picnic spots, shed added and urged every individual to understand the gravity of the situation.
DC said that people are appealed to strictly follow the guidelines, wear masks properly, avoid gathering and wash your hands to avoid the spread of coronavirus in the district.
While elaborating on the ongoing vaccination drive for 18-44 years, she said that in past few days our vaccination teams were facing reluctance from the youth due to rumours regarding infertility caused by the vaccine. To clear the doubts and to understand the situation at ground, a high level meeting was held at district level which was attended by all stakeholders including NGOs, Imams, Youth Association and others who were requested to generate awareness among the people about vaccination, she added.
Underscoring the importance of Vaccination, the DC said in the last few days the inoculation drives are being intensified for 18-44 years category with the active participation of the stakeholders and more people are being vaccinated on a daily basis by the teams constituted for the purpose.
The DC appealed to the people to cooperate with the District Administration and also visit your nearest Vaccination centres and get vaccinated in the shortest possible time adding that all 94 vaccination sites established in the district are functional.
