Cong holds public interaction at village level, seeks resolution of developmental issues

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) on Monday held public interactions at many places in Dooru segment of Anantnag District and received feedback with regard to various local issues concerning people.
A statement issued by the party on Monday said that the locals complained of water scarcity, dilapidated condition of roads and other lack of facilities in their respective areas and sought their resolution.
Stating that J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC)President Ghulam Ahmad Mir interacted with local people of Manzmou, Dongwari, Tanjloo, Cheki Wangund and other areas in Dooru Segment of Anantnag district aiming to receive feedback about the local developmental issues especially scarcity of drinking water, dilapidated conditions of roads and lack of other basic facilities in their respective areas, Congress in it’s statement further said “during the interaction, the local complained that they absolutely feel ignored on account of development at local level, drinking water, dilapidated condition of roads and other facilities concerning them”.
Ghulam Ahmad Mir, according to the above quoted party statement, expressed disappointment over the scarcity of Drinking water confronting villagers and said all the previous water supply schemes are lying defunct due to the construction of Qazigund Banihal Tunnel, with the result, people are suffering for non-availability pure drinking and resolution of other local issues.
“JKPCC President urged the Govt to execute mega WSS Project to ensure that inhabitants in these villages don’t remain without drinking water”, the statement reads adding that “on this occasion JKPCC president also lashed at dilapidated condition of various important roads and sought their immediate construction”.
Kund Lamad to Dongwari Manzmou PMGSY road is awaiting its completion for a long, Mir added and urged the administration to take early effective measures to address this pressing demand, on war footing basis and also urged that administration must take steps to resolve developmental issues,at village level to ensure respite to people.
