Srinagar: The National Conference (NC) and Communist Party of India (M) are likely to meet Delimitation Commission, arriving in the Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday on a four-day visit, first since it was set up.
The commission will hold parlays with leaders of different political parties, District Election Officers (DEO) and members of Panchayat Raj Institution (PRI).
Party sources told UNI that NC has decided to meet the commission and put forth their point of view on the delimitation issue.
The Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) had last night authorized alliance partners to take the individual  decision on the issue since no consciences could be arrived as there were divergent views.
The NC Members of Parliament (MPs) Dr Farooq Abdulllah, Justice (Retd) Hasnain Masoodi and Mohammad Akbar Lone had earlier boycotted the commission meetings. However, the boycott came under severe criticism from different quarters.
The change of heart in the NC was witnessed after Union Home minister Amit Shah and Lt Governor Manoj Sinha announced that election in the Jammu and Kashmir will be held only after delimitation process is completed. They have appealed to political parties to participate in the deliberation so that the process is completed as early as possible which will follow elections.
The CPI(M) has also decided to take part in the deliberations with the commission, party sources said.
They said the party believes that absence from the meeting with commission will hurt the interests of people, particularly Kashmir valley.
