Jammu: Director General Police Dilbag Singh has sanctioned meritorious scholarships in favour of 230 wards of serving Police personnel.
In a statement issued on Saturday police said “In an order Police Headquarters has sanctioned over Rs 14.50 lakh in favour of 230 wards who have excelled in the annual examination of class 12th during the academic session 2020-21”, adding that “the amount has been sanctioned out of the Central Police Welfare Fund”.
Stating that sixty wards who have secured 90% and above marks have been given a meritorious scholarship of Rs 7200 each, police in it’s statement further said that similarly, 170 wards who have secured 80% and above marks were rewarded with the meritorious scholarship of rupees 6000 each.
In the concluding para of it’s above referred statement police said “Police Headquarters has been sanctioning meritorious scholarships/scholarship, and DGPs special reward for the wards of martyr, deceased, and serving Police personnel/SPOs for their academic achievements and also for assisting financially the wards of martyr/deceased lower subordinates”.
