Baramulla: According to District Statistics Officer (DSO) Baramulla, Ishtiyaq Ahmad Khan, 20 teams have been deputed to conduct the Migratory Census 2021 in the district.
The activity is being carried out as part of the decadal census 2021 that has been affected due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent circumstances.
The DSO, who is also the Nodal Officer for the process, further informs that these teams having 05 officials from across several departments shall conduct field study from 03 July to 20 July, 2021 after which report writing and tabulation shall be conducted.
The DSO added that Migratory Census is one of the important facet of the study on population with respect to migration arising out of social, economic and political reasons.
He informed that necessary training capsules were imparted in order to properly familiarise them with the related aspects. Moreover, he said that essential items which include tents, medical kits and other necessary items have already been distributed among the respective teams.
