Jammu: Jammu & Kashmir Police on Friday said that it has arrested two more accused involved in IED recovery case in Jammu.
In a statement issued on Friday police said “ In continuation to the case FIR No. 234/2021 u/s 121,122 IPC, 13,18,23,38,39 UAPA, 4/5 ESA of PS Bahu Fort regarding IED recovery, two more suspects have been arrested”, adding that
“on the basis of sustained interrogation of accused Nadeem ul haq S/o Abdul Rehman Rather R/O Banihal from whose possession IED was earlier recovered due to promptness and diligent response of Jammu police at Bathindi area in the above mentioned case, names of two more persons were revealed”.
Stating that police in Jammu on Friday rounded up the two accused identified as Nadeem Ayoub Rather S/o Ayoob Rather R/o Chak Cholend Herman Shopian and Talib ur Rehman S/o Abdul Rehman R/o Kaskoot Banihal Ramban, police in it’s statement further said that during sustained questioning accused confessed their involvement in the above case and disclosed that they were planning criminal conspiracy at Banihal on the directions of their handlers, they were directed to carryout IED blast at major religious place of Jammu.
Police in it’s statement further said “It was for the same reason that earlier arrested accused namely Nadeem ul haq came from Banihal to Jammu to carryout the IED attack to spread fear and destabilise peaceful atmosphere of the city”, adding that “Also, during preliminary investigation it was transpired that IED seems to be dropped by drone. Further investigation of the case is going on”.
