The recent spike in suicide cases in Kashmir is the critical matter of concern. As per the report of SMHS Hospital over 500 suicide cases reported from our valley in last one year. Instead of making critics and being judgmental the responsibility of every person to curb this new virus is the need of hour. Killing yourself might seem to be the only way out to escape from your problematic life but it is not so. Nobody has a perfect life. Problems are a part of life. You have to face both thick and thin in the life, this is what life is meant for. It’s all about being strong enough to face the problems and solve the problems. Nothing is permanent. No problem is created without a solution. Always be ready to face the challenges as life can’t run smoothly for you. Never run away from the problems rather have courage to face the odds. Don’t lose hope. Be brave enough, have faith and patience. Try to find the solution of problem but don’t end yourself. It’s not the way out for your pains and sufferings. It does not end your pain rather it ends you. Think about you, your future, your family, your loved ones, your friends before committing this coward act. It’s not just about you, it’s the destruction of whole community.
Committing a suicide is not a solution. Remember it is strictly prohibited almost in every religion. In Islam it is considered a HARAM act. Its highly sinful and detrimental to one’s spiritual life. One can have the suicidal thoughts because at times it may be quite hard to find any possibility and you realize things can’t get better but everything gets better with time. Whenever you feel depressed or suicidal thoughts begin to revolve in your mind-SPEAK UP, DO NOT HIDE. Open your heart and share your issues with your loved ones, this may help you to free your mind instead of choosing this dastard move. Protect yourself from the feeling of depression, negativity, anxiety and pain by any possible way. Engage yourself enough into the routine to avoid feeling of depression and suicidal thoughts otherwise it affects your mental health. At the same time, it is the responsibility of every one to be kind, keep an eye and look after their close ones, try to find how their life is going, try to find whether they need some help, try to reach out to the depressed ones. This may save their life. Stop being judgmental, stop criticizing, stop commenting on one’s suicide. Try to find the solution of this serious trend that is presently becoming the leading cause of death in our valley. Follow the proper way of coming out of depression but don’t end yourself…. “Love yourself”
