Extraction process to be carried out in systematic manner at Ang

Anantnag: The Pollution Control Committee Anantnag Thursday organized a public hearing on environmental clearance of Minor Mineral Blocks, 08 (Soaf Shali Bridge) and 04 (Shankarpora Bridge) at Town Hall Kokernag here.
The public hearing was chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Ghulam Hassan Sheikh. District Mineral Officer, officials of Jal Shakti, Irrigation and Flood Control and other departments besides the citizens and stakeholders living in vicinity of respective blocks were present on the occasion.
Threadbare discussions were held on the occasion and the participants raised their concerns before the chair who heard them patiently.
Addressing the function, the ADC assured that genuine issues of people will be taken care of and extraction process shall be carried out in a systematic and scientific manner.
Issues of inundation, irrigation, agriculture etc have been taken into consideration under Mineral Plan and Environmental Impact Survey, he added.
The DMO elaborated the e-auctioning process to the participants besides other technical aspects related to the extraction of minor minerals. He added that the department of Geology and Mining will consider the genuine issues and people from the concerned mineral blocks may approach their offices anytime.
