Srinagar/July,1: On the eve of National Doctors Day, Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Rather remembered the sacrifices of doctors across India and in Jammu and Kashmir during the Covid-19 pandemic.

A spokesperson of Directorate of Health Services Kashmir said the director praised doctors and other medical professionals for playing a lead role in fighting the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Today, on National Doctor’s Day, we salute the efforts of our doctors who serve humanity despite the pandemic situation. I wish happy doctors’ day to all the doctors across the country,” ,” Dr Mushtaq said in his message.

He said they remember the sacrifices made by the doctors who laid down their lives to save people from the pandemic and with their families shoulder to shoulder.

“In Jammu and Kashmir also doctors sacrificed their lives and today we salute their services. From junior to senior doctors they were always there to save people,” he said.

The Government of India had established Doctors’ Day in 1991 to recognize the contributions of BC Roy. He played an important role in the establishment of the Medical Council of India and Indian Medical Association. This day is celebrated to acknowledge the role of doctors in the progress of this nation.
