Jammu: Director, Animal Husbandry Jammu, Ms Vivek Sharma Tuesday reviewed the performance of the department in the districts here at a meeting.
The Director took a detailed review on the implementation of various farmer-centric welfare schemes, especially Integrated Dairy development Scheme, Integrated Poultry Development Program, National Artificial Insemination Programme, Livestock Insurance & Cattle feed Processing and fodder development Scheme. She issued on the spot directions for the time bound achievement of targets under each scheme at the district level.
Besides, the Director also conveyed to the participants about the upcoming administrative inspection of the offices and directed them to carry out the drive diligently with the focus on record checking and cleanliness at different subordinate offices in the respective districts.
During the meeting the modalities regarding the forthcoming Vishal Pashudhan Vyapar Mela to be held at Hiranagar (Kathua) were also discussed in detail. In this regard the district officers were directed to identify and prepare the list of the interested beneficiaries under the Integrated Dairy Development scheme 2020-21 well in time.
The chair conveyed to the participants that the milch animals to be put on display during the mela shall exclusively be brought from outside Jammu & Kashmir and the sale/ purchase of these animals under the scheme (IDDS) shall only be through the online portal ‘e-pashuhaat’ thus they should accordingly conduct meetings with the dairy farmers of their respective districts, acquaint them with the portal and the ‘e- GOPALA’ App and get them registered on it. This shall also ensure the hassle free sale/purchase of the milch animals. The chair expressed confidence that the mela shall set an example in the region and shall motivate more buyers and sellers of milch animals to induct the quality livestock into Jammu & Kashmir from outside thereby enhancing the local milk production thus serving the motive behind the launch of the Integrated Dairy Development Scheme.
It was also impressed upon the officers to develop a close rapport with the respective PRIs by involving all the field staff and generate maximum awareness at grassroot level so that there is better implementation of departmental schemes/ programmes paving the way towards the accomplishment of the government’s vision of doubling the farmer’s income.
The meeting, among others, was attended by Dr. M.A.Tak, Chief Executive Officer, Livestock Development Board Jammu cum Joint director Farms, Dr. Anil Gupta, Joint Director Poultry, Dr. Tariq Parvez, Joint Director ARV R.S. Pura, Deputy Director Central, Deputy Director Poultry, Deputy Director Planning, Technical officers of the directorate and the Chief Animal Husbandry Officers’ of Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Reasi and Udhampur districts while the Other District officers participated through the video conferencing.
