Chairman NHPC inspects HEP projects in Chenab Valley

Kishtwar: Chairman and Managing Director, NHPC A.K Singh, who was on a three day visit to Kishtwar inspected various hydro power projects being executed by CVPPPL and RHPCL in Chenab Valley.
He inspected the progress of work on the 1000 MW Pakal Dul HE Project, 624 MW Kiru HEP, 540 MW Kwar HEP and 930 MW Kirthai-II HE Project being executed by CVPPPL.
During the visit, he was accompanied by A.K. Choudhary, MD, CVPPPL; Rajan Kumar, CGM , NHPC RO, Jammu and other senior officers of NHPC Ltd and CVPPPL.
En-route, he visited sites of major components of the 850 MW Rattle HEP being executed by Rattle Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited.
Singh also met with Farooq Khan, Advisor to Lt Governor of J&K and discussed the issues related to power Projects. At Pakal Dul HE Project, he inaugurated 90 Mtr Single Span 70 R Steel Truss Bridge on river Chenab and started MIV Cavern concreting.
He interacted with the representatives of M/s Afcon-JAL JV, M/s L&T Ltd and M/s Voith Hydro Pvt Ltd. Contractors of Pakal Dul HE Project & reviewed the progress of works.
During his visit, Singh reviewed the progress of Power House Cavern, Transformer Hall Cavern, Bus Ducts, approach road to Surge Shaft Top,
Surge Shaft Road Tunnel, Valve House, HRT-TBM Platform area and advised the concerned to put in dedicated efforts to complete the activities within the stipulated time frame.
He also interacted with the representatives of workers’ unions and virtually addressed the employees of CVPPPL and NHPC. He lauded the whole team for their hard & efficient work and sought their cooperation for timely completion of the projects. He directed the concerned to ensure the optimum utilization of the CAPEX Budget.
Singh implored upon all the stakeholders to abide by the COVID-19 related protocols and advised all to get themselves and their family members vaccinated and participate in the nation’s fight against the pandemic.
