Advisor Farooq Khan visits Bhaderwah; reviews dev scenario of Doda distt

Doda:Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan, Friday visited Bhaderwah area of Doda and reviewed the development scenario of the district with emphasis on centrally sponsored schemes like PMUY, JJM, PMGSY and MGNREGA.
The meeting was attended by Chairperson District Development Council, Dhananter Singh Kotwal, DDC Vice Chairperson, Sangeeta Rani Bhagat, Deputy Commissioner, Vikas Sharma, Director Agriculture Jammu, Director Horticulture Jammu, Additional District Development Commissioner, Hanief Malik, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Rakesh Kumar, Deputy Labour Commissioner, Jammu, besides district officers of various departments.
While reviewing the social sector schemes, Advisor directed the concerned to extend handholding to the beneficiaries in collecting the documents from all the concerned departments. He also asked them to forward the pendency to the concerned authorities for timely sanctioning of cases.
Regarding transportation of ration to the dealers at their doorsteps, Advisor directed the concerned department to take up the matter on priority basis with the RTC. He asked to stop the flour supply in the district and get 100 per cent wheat against the flour.
Advisor, while assessing progress on PMGSY roads, asked the concerned agency to verify all the commissioned roads and ensure all are through for transportation. He also asked to settle the land disputes, if any, in coordination with PRI members for end to end connectivity.
Referring to ongoing mega projects, Advisor asked the executing agencies to speed up the pace of work on these vital works and ensure local labourers get employment in these projects.
While reviewing the labour benefit schemes, Advisor asked the ALC to verify the actual status of death cases with higher authorities besides collecting the brochures from the concerned authorities regarding benefit of the schemes which shall be distributed across all the panchayats of the area for awareness.
Advisor directed all the officers to be stationed in the district round the clock so that pubic issues shall be addressed without any hinderance.
Appreciating the scenic splendor and unique terrain of Bhaderwah Valley, Advisor urged upon the local youth to explore and utilize adventure tourism as a potential and profitable vocation here which require less investment.
Earlier, various delegations including DDC members, BDC Chairpersons, Sarpanchs, Panchs, senior citizens, representatives of political parties, NGOs and civil society members called on the Advisor with their issues and concerns.
The issues raised included divisional status for erstwhile district Doda, district status to Bhaderwah, start of work on Chattergala Tunnel, women college in Doda, filling up of post of CEO BDA, construction of mini secretariat at Bhaderwah, renovation of tourist parks and infrastructure, cold storage facilities at Bhaderwah, blacktopping of roads, Bank branches and ATM facilities in Chiralla and Bhalessa, up-gradation of schools besides construction and repair of irrigation canals.
Advisor assured that all their issues and demands shall be taken up with the concerned authorities for redressal.
