Jammu:Police on Friday said that it has challaned 85 violators under a special drive to check MV Act violation in Akhnoor area of Jammu district.
In a statement issued on Friday police said “a special drive was launched by SDPO AKhnoor Varun Jandial in sub division Akhnoor regarding awareness of Motor vehicle rules and regulations”, adding that “various nakas were established at different places in Akhnoor, Khour, Gharota, Chowki-Choura, Jourian, Pallanwala, Pargwal & other locations where police briefed the public on the importance of MV Rules and regulations such as wearing of helmet, insurance etc”.
Stating that also 85 violators were challaned under various provisions of MV ct. Moreover, police in it’s above referred statement also appealed parents to not to allow their kids to drive vehicles until the attainment of legal age and without proper documents/ helmet so that the fatality rate in accidents can be brought down.
