DC Kupwara visits Keran, convenes officers meetings, public darbars

Kupwara: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din Tuesday directed the executing agencies to redouble their efforts for timely completion of all on-going development works in border Keran area, situated near LoC, in view of its topography and limited working season.
The DC was addressing a series of officers’ meetings and public darbar at different places during his two day visit to the Keran area. District Officers and local PRIs and senior citizens attended the meetings.
During the visit, he on spot resolved many issues and gave directions to the concerned officers for timely resolution of public grievances.
Responding to the issues, the DC said that the government has prioritized the work for covering left out panchayats with electricity and Panchayat halqa Mandian-A and B shall be covered with the power supply on priority basis.
Regarding development of the road from Dat-bridge to Keran, the Deputy Commissioner informed that BRO has agreed in principle to take over the road from R&B for further development.
Regarding availability of helicopter services during winter season, he assured the people of the area to take up the matter with the government so that the demand could be fulfilled.
The DC directed Tehsildar Keran to send details of all those students who are studying outside the Keran and are in need of ALC certificate for further course of action so that the demand of the public is fulfilled.
Regarding augmentation of drinking water and irrigation facilities, the DC directed the concerned Executive Engineers to speed up the execution of irrigation khuls and water supply schemes so that the ultimate aim of the schemes to facilitate the public on time is yielded in a better way.
On the demand of opening the Army Gate for the villagers of Mundu, he assured the people of the area to take up the matter with the concerned Army authorities for its timely resolution.
Regarding issuance of Aadhaar cards, the DC directed the CDPO Kralpora team which is already in Keran for issuance of Aadhaar cards, to stay at Keran till completion of the task.
Resolving another grievance, the DC directed Chief Education Officer Kupwara to arrange Math teachers at all required schools in the area. He further directed him to start Community classes, strictly following SOPs in Covid free Keran area as there is no internet and telecommunication facility.
He also assured the people for prioritizing of sanction for pension cases under Social Welfare schemes as and when administration receives sanction for pending cases.
On the way back to Kupwara, the DC addressed many public gatherings including public darbar at Meelyal and Kachama in block Kralpora. He listened to the public patiently and resolved many issues. Regarding the issue of labourers, the DC assured the public to take up the matter with concerned authorities for its timely resolution.
During the two day visit, various individuals also met the DC and put forward their grievances before him which he heard patiently.
