SMC celebrates Int’l Yoga Day

Srinagar Municipal Corporation on Saturday organised several events on the eve of International Yoga Day.

The main events had taken place at Central Office Karan Nagar in which Mayor Srinagar Junaid Azeem Mattu was the Chief guest.

Mattu along with Deputy Mayor Mr Parvez Qadri, Commissioner SMC, Shri Athar Aamir Khan , Chairman Health and Sanitation Committee Mr Arif Raja and others actively participated in the event.On the occassion Mayor said that Yoga not only embodies unity of mind and body, thought and action ,but its a holistic approach to health and well-being.The other main event took place at SK Park Lal Chowk in which Commissioner SMC Mr Athar Aamir Khan along with other officers participated and performed yoga on the occassion. Mayor Shri Junaid Matoo abd Deputy Mayor Shri Parvaiz Qadri were also present and emphasised on the importance of Yoga.

Several Aasana’s were performed on the occassion.
Commissioner on the occassion said that Yoga is essential for the physical and mental well being.

Yoga has a great impact in improving the health and in creating a healthy lifestyle. we all should work towards adopting yoga as a part of daily routine. said Commissioner SMC.
