Jammu admin constitutes Distt level Monitoring Committee

Jammu: District Administration, Jammu in collaboration with Panchayati Raj Institutions, has formulated an Action Plan for Water Conservation, Ground Water Recharge and Rejuvenation of Water Bodies as part of Jal Shakti Abhiyan for the year 2020-21.
Over 3,000 works have been conceptualized to be undertaken by different line departments in convergence mode as part of Project Boond – every drop counts, with an overall project outlay of Rs. 50 crores.
Accordingly, a District Level Committee of officers has been constituted under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Jammu for Planning, Execution, Monitoring and Documentation of all the activities to be undertaken under the process.
The members of the constituted Committee are Additional Deputy Commissioner (Adm) Jammu, Chief Planning Officer, Jammu (Member Secretary), Superintending Engineer, Hydraulic, Jammu, District Informatics Officer, Jammu, Assistant Commissioner Development, Jammu, PO, IWMP Jammu, Divisional Forest Officer (T), Jammu and District Soil Conservation Officer, Jammu.
The terms of reference of the Committee are Preparation of work wise concept note for the six themes of the project viz Rejuvenation of Existing Water Bodies; Creation of New Water Bodies; Repair of Hand Pumps; Installation of New Hand Pumps; Construction of New Check Dams; Construction of Roof Top Water Harvesting structures in Government Buildings.
The Committee will also be responsible for Supervision of execution of works alongwith GIS tagging and capturing of Photographs to monitor the progress; Development of an online portal for uploading of theme-wise works as per the pre -devised formats; Planning and Undertaking IEC and other activities as part of Jal Jeevan Mission at Panchayat level and Creation of Jal Shakti Kendra at District Level to coordinate all water related activities.
