Prof. Vivek Sachdeva from Department of English, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprasth University, New Delhi was the Key note speaker. Prof. Sachdeva in his keynote address gave an epistemological and ontological distinction between the two disciplines and gave the reasons for Philosophy’s supremacy in academia as perceived by the Greek philosophers. But with time, the distinction between these two disciplines blurred. Prof Sachdeva in his comprehensive presentation mentioned the contribution of various philosophers and writers who considered them as corollaries, as both disciplines share a curiosity to explore the questions of human existence, struggle and social – consciousness. The seminar was divided into two technical sessions, the first technical session was chaired by Dr Amit Yograj Kapur, Head, Department of the English, Shree J.P.Arts and Science College,Bharuch Gujarat, and was coordinated by Dr Mariya Aslam, Assistant Professor, Department of English, BGSBU. The second technical session was chaired by Prof Ayesha Munira Rasheed, Department of English, Aligarh Muslim University, UP and was coordinated by Dr Shachi Sood, Assistant Professor,Department of English,BGSBU.Around thirty delegates from different parts of India presented their scholarly papers from different perspectives to examine the relationship between the two disciplines. The welcome address was delivered by Prof Iqbal Parwez, Dean Academic Affairs, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University.
