2 theft cases solved, 4 accused arrested, Stolen property also recovered: Police

Srinagar: Police on Saturday said that it has solved two theft cases by arresting four accused persons involved in the commission of crime and have recovered stolen property on their disclosure.
In a statement issued here on Saturday police said that Police Station Nigeen on 18th June this year received a written complaint from one person namely Irfan Ahmad Mir resident of Kanitar Saderbal regarding theft of cigarettes and other items from his shop on 17/06/2021 and a case vide FIR number 71/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Nigeen and investigation was also initiated.
Stating that during the course of investigation, an investigating team led by SHO PS Nigeen under the supervision of SDPO Zakura was constituted, police in it’s statement said “by using the blend of technical support & human resources, one person namely Amaan Syed Mattoo son of Mohammad Syed Mattoo resident of Kawdara Srinagar was apprehended and on questioning the said apprehended person accepted his involvement in the commission of crime along with other accused person namely Noor Mohammad Kaloo son of Ghulam Mohammad Kaloo resident of Kawdara”.
Revealing that the accused person Noor Mohammad Kaloo was arrested. And upon the disclosure of the accused persons stolen property including 50 boxes of 4-square Cigarette, Dhara Oil=02 No’s and Spices= 09 packets were recovered, police in it’s statement also said “ one vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized”, adding that “both the accused persons have been shifted to police station where they remain in custodyand further investigation is in progress”.
Police also said that in a similar incident in Awantipora, Police Station Khrew received a complaint from one person namely Adil Rashid Bhat resident of Khrew who stated therein that one lady who was working as maid servant in his house decamped with gold ornaments and some other household items”.
Stating that a case FIR number 45/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Khrew and investigation was initiated , police in it’s statement further said that during the course of investigation, Police team of Police Station Khrew arrested the alleged accused from Lalpora, Kunzar area of North Kashmir and upon questioning, the accused accepts her involvement in the commission of crime along with her accomplice namely Sajad Ahmad Mir son of Bashir Ahmed Mir resident of Bhatpora, Kanihama.
Revealing that the said accused person Sajad Ahmad Mir was arrested Police in the concluding para of it’s above referred statement said that on the disclosure of the accused persons the stolen property including golden Ring= 01 No, golden bangle= 01 No, golden necklace=01 No, some other garments have been recovered.
