World Blood Donor Day celebrated in Bandipora

Bandipora: World Blood Donor Day was celebrated on the theme “Give Blood and keep the World beating” celebrated in Bandipora.
Health department Bandipora in collaboration with Department of Hematology & Transfusion Medicine Government Lal Ded Hospital Srinagar organized the blood donation camp here in north kashmir’s Bandipora district.
The theme of this year’s campaign is “Give Blood and keep the World Beating” for the occasion to highlight the extraordinary service rendered by the blood donor’s world over.
The camp was held under the chairmanship of Block Medical officer Bandipora Dr Masarat Iqbal. Camp was organized at Paribal Takri. All the preparations arrangement of Beds, Sanitation etc were made by health officials. A team of medicos including Dr.Syed Liyaqat Ali, Dr. Faizan Bashir ,Dr. Abid & other paramedical staff headed by Block Medical Officer Bandipora were present.
The Blood Donation Camp continued till 2.00 pm. Almost 30 donors donated the blood.
Besides Blood donation camp, testing for Covid-19 & Vaccination were also done.
The Chief guest Dr Javid Ahmad delivered the speech on world blood donor day, he talked about facts, myths of Blood groups related information. He told the audience that the blood donation does not weaken the donors and the donated blood would be used for saving the lives of the injured and the sick.
The Team of doctors assured the donors that their blood will be served to save poor and needy persons life. Doctors and paramedic staff also expressed satisfaction over the response and interest shown by donors in donating blood.
