Srinagar: Former Union Minister Prof Saif Ud Din Soz on Tuesday appealed Jammu & Kashmir Government to resettle and rehabilitate fire victims of Noorbagh Baramulla.
In a statement issued on Tuesday Soz said “I have conveyed it to the Union Territory Govt. through their top functionaries that the fire-sufferers of Noorbagh Baramulla must be provided relief and other facilities for their rehabilitation, as early as possible”, adding that “ I have also brought to the attention the fact that since the working season in Kashmir is limited to just four months, the requirements for rehabilitation must be provided in time, particularly for the fact that winter months are not far away”.
He has also said that since the fire-sufferers belong to the lowest strata of society ,the Administration must show some urgency in respect of measures that need to be taken for their rehabilitation.
In the concluding para of his above referred statement Soz said “the functionaries with whom I took up the matter include the Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Mehta, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Pandurang K. Pole and the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Bhupinder Kumar.”
