Anantnag: Addressing a meeting of officers of Revenue, Health, ICDS and other departments, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Dr. Piyush Singla Saturday said that the vaccination is the most effective tool against the Coronavirus.
The meeting was held at Dak Bangalow Khanabal and was attended by ADC (S), SDMs, DPO, ACR, CMO, Dy. CMO and other concerned officers.
During the proceedings, the DC reviewed the progress of vaccination besides the steps being taken to accelerate the same in the district.
Dr. Singla on the occasion passed directions to intensify efforts for ensuring cent percent vaccination of 45 plus priority population in a time bound manner.
Showing satisfaction over performance of health and other concerned departments, the DC asked the officers to work harder besides planning and fine tuning the strategies at micro-level for better results.
Dr. Singla exhorted for strong coordination among AEROs (Tehsildars), BMOs, SHOs and BLOs to persuade people at Booth Level so that the remaining priority population is inoculated in coming weeks.
Directing the District Programme Officer ICDS to monitor and streamline the activities of AWWs, the DC said the same would ensure rapid progress in inoculation drives.
Dr. Singla impressed upon the officers to sensitise the beneficiaries and people visiting their offices to get vaccinated. He called for generating necessary awareness through stickers, highlighting importance of vaccination, at fair price shops, petrol pumps etc besides conducting special vaccination drives at banks with heavy footfall.
The meeting was informed that a total of 2.36 lac doses have been given to beneficiaries of priority population (from general public), healthcare and frontline workers besides 18 to 45 high risk/vulnerable groups so far in the district.
Meanwhile, the authorities appealed eligible people (all above 45 age and high risk/vulnerable groups) to take Covid vaccine forthwith so that Herd Immunity is soon achieved and the place become safer for all.
