Srinagar: SMC Commissioner Athar Aamir Khan on Saturday visited the Animal Birth Control and Anti Rabies Vaccination Facility at Shuhama. The facility is being run in collaboration with SKAUST-K and Animal Welfare Board of India.
The Commissioner SMC reviewed the proposed site plan for new operation theatres block and kennel blocks being planned. In order to manage the challenge of stray animals especially dogs, a new operation theatre block, around 240 more dog kennels and an Animal Rehabilitation Centre are being planned at Shuhama. During the Visit Joint Commissioners, Municipal Vetenary Officer, SKAUST teams and members from Animal welfare organisations were present.
