Finance deptt teams conduct verification of under execution projects in Distt Rajouri

Rajouri: The teams of Finance and Statistics and Evaluation departments Saturday conducted verification of under execution projects in different areas of Rajouri district.
As per District Statistics and Evaluation Officer, Bilal Mir, teams comprising officers and officials of Planning and Monitoring Department(Now Finance Department) inspected various developmental works being executed by the Public Works Department and enlisted by the Finance Department for 100% Physical Verification.
Around 70 projects have been kept in the Plan for verification for this week belonging to different departments, for which District Statistics and Evaluation Officer, constituted the teams on the instructions of Finance Department and Director General ( E&S) A.K Gandotra and District Development Commissioner, Rajouri, Rajesh Kumar Shavan. The teams are visiting various areas of the District to ascertain the factual position regarding the execution of the projects on ground and their utility cum outcome, after completion. The teams were assigned the task to carry out hundred percent physical verification of works/ Project in the district.
During the verification, the DSEO sought record like Detailed Project Report, Copy of AAA and Technical Sanction and present Status of the works in question and visited the sites.
He informed that Projects of R&B Department namely Const. of Road from Manhore Gala to Kassi Sawri, Salyar Nakka Samote to Upper Samote & from Panjnara to Patli Road with approved cost of Rs. 1.31 crore, Rs. 1.29 crore and Rs. 1.80 crore, respectively, were inspected Saturday and observations made at the spot shall be reflected in the verification report.
While speaking on the occasion, the DSEO said that the exercise is being carried out to strengthen the institution of Monitoring and Evaluation right from the ground level of the official machinery to bring transparency, accountability and efficiency in government expenditure.
He said the teams have inspected more than 400 projects during Covid 19 Pandemic, pertaining to Education, Health, Urban Local bodies, irrigation and Flood control and Public Works Department.
The projects inspected are being executed by RDD, PWD, Irrigation & Flood control, Executing agency of SAMAGRA and by the respective technical wing of Municipal Council and Municipal Committees.
The DSEO was accompanied by Rafi Asstt. Director Planning; Yousaf SO, Planning; Nouman JSA; Altaf, JSA and Representatives of PWD( R&B) Department.*
During the touring, the DSEO, as authorized by DDMA, recovered a fine of Rs 20500 against 39 Challans in respect of COVID SOPs violations. He said that Fine was imposed on Shopkeepers for opening of Shops and for not wearing the Masks during Lockdown.
