Srinagar: Amid surge in COVID-19 cases and deaths, Police have registered 7 FIRs and arrested 26 violators ,besides realising fine of Rs 11,18,100/- from 5943 violators. Six vehicles were also seized for violating COVID- norms in Bandipora in the last 24 hours for defying the prevailing lockdown restrictions aimed at containing the disease transmission.
In a statement issued on Saturday police said that it is taking all measures to implement strict lockdown restriction announced by the government for containing community transmission of the covid -19 pandemic.Stating that the special drive against the violators of Covid-19 guidelines/rules continued in all the districts of Kashmir valley to ensure that people adhere to SOPs/ guidelines envisaged by government to curb COVID-19 pandemic, police in the concluding para of it’s above referred statement appealed people to cooperate with it in containing the spread of Coronavirus by following the SOPs/ guidelines/ protocols for the safety of the people. Police in its statement also reiterated that special drive shall continue throughout the districts of Kashmir Valley to strengthen the safety measures.
