HIMAYAT bags “Azaadi Ka Hunarbaaz Awards” for differently-abled candidates

Jammu:On the occasion of Azaadi ka Amrut Mahotsav India@75, National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRD & PR), Hyderabad on the instructions of Ministry of Rural Development , GoI instituted Azaadi Ka Hunarbaaz Awards for differently-abled candidates who were trained through DDU-GKY program in various trades, subsequently got placement and worked in the organisations for more than one year.
Himayat Mission Management Unit, JKRLM nominated the candidates trained & placed under HIMAYAT program from Jammu and Kashmir. Candidates, namely Amit Kumar and Humza Bin Manzoor have been selected for the “Azaadi ka Hunarbaaz Awards”. .
Amit Kumar, hails from Patoli Brahmana, Jammu. He lost his father long back and lives with his mother in a small house. He met with an accident & suffered bodily injuries. He is 33 yrs age and due to age and his disability he was facing many issues in getting placed. He got rejected many times in the interview. He was enrolled in Departmental Manager trade in Himayat training programme in 2019 and after successful completion of course, got placed in Aug 2019 in Movietime, Jammu and later on got employed with Fun Bytes.
Humza Bin Manzoor hails from village Bhalessa district Doda. Her father Manzoor Ahmed is unemployed. She has Right Arm Disability. she was enrolled in Retail Team Leader trade in Himayat training programme in 2017 and after successful completion of course , she got selected in Bharti Televentures (Airtel) Doda and is currently drawing a salary of rupees 12000 per month.
Himayat is a flagship program of J&K govt which aims to provide placement linked skill training programs to the unemployed youth in different sectors through public private partnership mode.
