Police fishes out body of a youth drowned in Budgam

Srinagar: Police in Budgam along with SDRF team on Thursday said that it retrieved the body of a youth who was on Wednesday this week drowned in a stream in a village Arigam Khansahib .
In a statement issued here on Thursday police said “ Wednesday afternoon this week Police in Budgam received inputs about the drowning of a teenaged boy namely Irfan Ahmad Bhat son of Abdul Rashid Bhat of Arigam village of Khansahib area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Stating that acting swiftly, Police reached on the spot and started rescue operation along with locals of the area, police in the above referred statement further said that SDRF teams and River Police Srinagar were also called in for the operation.
Police in the concluding para of it’s statement said that after strenuous efforts by joint teams of Budgam Police, SDRF and River Police, the body of the drowned youth was fished out and handed over to his legal heirs after completion of legal formalities.
